Taking Back Sunday Announce First Tour As Major-Label Artists
Taking Back Sunday are making the leap to the majors with their new album, Louder Now, and what better way to flex that major-label muscle than with a proper headlining tour?
On Thursday (February 16), reps for TBS' label, Warner Bros., gave MTV News the exclusive first look at the band's spring tour, scheduled to kick off March 31 in Boulder, Colorado. The cross-country jaunt makes stops in small venues in at least 20 cities (additional dates still to be announced) before wrapping with a headlining stint at the Bamboozle Festival in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on May 7 (see [article id="1514325"]"Fall Out Boy, Motion City Soundtrack Good To Go For Bamboozle '06"[/article]).
The news comes hot on the heels of Taking Back Sunday's sold-out string of U.K. dates and almost one year to the day from their last big tour announcement, a co-headlining jaunt with Jimmy Eat World (see [article id="1496569"]"Monsters Of Emo: Jimmy Eat World, Taking Back Sunday To Tour In April"[/article]). Tickets for the tour will be available through an advance presale on TakingBackSunday.com starting February 22.
Louder Now is due April 25. It was recorded in Los Angeles and produced by former Queens of the Stone Age knob-twiddler Eric Valentine (see [article id="1513113"]"Taking Back Sunday Record New Album, Duck Crazy People In Los Angeles"[/article]). The band is weeding through video treatments for the first single off the album, "MakeDamnSure."
