Bow Wow Wow's Live Album
Tribal pop-rockers Bow Wow Wow will release a live album of material
recorded on their recent U.S. comeback tour in September. The '80s new-wave
band, known for its video hit "I Want Candy," re-formed last December with two
new members for a four-month U.S. tour. A 12-track album, still untitled, will be
released in October on the Cleopatra label. On Friday, the band's U.S. publicist,
Ken Phillips, added that four classic BWW songs -- "C30, C60, C90 Go,"
"W.O.R.K." and "Do You Wanna Hold Me," as well as "I Want Candy" -- are
slated for remixing by a group of artists that may include Dead Or Alive,
David Haskins of Love and Rockets, Information
Society, DJ Keoki and Leatherstrip. According to Phillips,
the group wrote at least 10 new songs while on the road, including "Bedouin
Rocker," "Eastern Promise" and the ballad "A Thousand Tears." Consequently,
Bow Wow Wow hope to release an album of new material later this year.
Phillips also said the band is planning to return to the U.S. for more dates,
acting as support for a still-unnamed "major" artist.
