Hey, That's A Great Talking Keychain ... For Me To Poop On!

Toy plays back trademark lines from Triumph the Insult Comic Dog.

Like poop in a kennel's backyard, Conan O'Brien's puppet sidekick Triumph the Insult Comic Dog is all over the place: the Grammys, the VMAs, even the presidential debates' "Spin Alley." Soon, he'll be in your pocket too.

New Orleans' Emanation Inc. is adding Triumph to its In Your Pocket series of audio toys, which also includes Mr. T in Your Pocket and Cajun in Your Pocket. The kidney-shaped keychain features six sound bites of common Triumph quips, including "I keed, I keed," "Please, may I sniff your butt?" and "I like you, but then again I eat my own poop."

Emanation and its owner, Steve Winn, made headlines in 2002 by suing Mystikal for using the Cajun in Your Pocket phrases "We gon' pass good time, yeah, cher" and "You gotta suck da head on dem der crawfish" on the song "Shake Ya Ass" from his 2000 album, Let's Get Ready (see [article id="1453079"]"Mystikal Sued For Advocating The Sucking Of Crawfish Heads"[/article]). The Fifth U.S. District Court of Appeals, however, ruled that such traditional Cajun phrases could not be protected under U.S. copyright laws (see [article id="1477168"]"Judge Says Mystikal Free To Talk About Sucking Crawfish Heads Again"[/article]).

Sayings from Winn's latest toy can be heard loud and clear on Triumph's Come Poop With Me album (see [article id="1457380"]"Eminem Enemy Triumph Previews LP; Beefs With Bow Wow, Benji"[/article]), but this time a copyright dispute is unlikely, since Emanation is throwing Triumph a bone in exchange for licensing his voice.

The toy should be in stores soon after Triumph's record battles four others for the Best Comedy Album Grammy on February 13. The other nominees are Jon Stewart, David Sedaris, Al Franken and Ellen DeGeneres (see [article id="1494569"]"Kanye Scores 10 Grammy Nominations; Usher And Alicia Keys Land Eight"[/article]).
