New Releases: Angie Stone, Brad Cotter, 'Before Sunset,' The MC5
It's hard not to be upstaged by fireworks, so it seems that recording artists have decided to take a backseat to the festivities surrounding the Fourth of July.
However, R&B singer Angie Stone shows her fans some Stone Love this week as she releases her third album, the follow-up to 2001's Mahogany Soul.
The soundtrack to "Before Sunset," hitting stores this week, combines tracks from the film's predecessor, 1995's "Before Sunrise" with songs from the new film. It includes contributions from artists like Nina Simone and Yo-Yo Ma, as well as the film's star, Julie Delpy.
Pioneering garage-rockers the MC5 commemorate themselves this week with the DVD release "Sonic Revolution: A Celebration of the MC5," a full concert including guests like Dave Vanian of the Damned, Lemmy from Motörhead and the Cult's Ian Astbury, among others.
Country fans may want to check out the debut album from "Nashville Star" winner Brad Cotter. His Patient Man hits stores this week.
