Dashboard Confessional To Spill Their Guts In A Customized Civic
Back when former Further Seems Forever singer Chris Carrabba named his side project, he probably wasn't thinking about what brand of car he'd be crooning his lovelorn confessions into. As it turns out, Dashboard Confessional will headline this year's Honda Civic Tour.
"We're excited to be involved with this tour because it allows us to branch out to a larger audience," Carrabba, who has seen his one-man act grow into a quartet over the last few years, said in a statement. "Plus our fans will be able to win our one-of-a-kind customized Civic."
The annual event and customized-car giveaway has featured Blink-182, New Found Glory and Good Charlotte in the past. This year's custom-painted cars will come with Alpine stereo components and Apple iPods. Presale tickets for the tour, which kicks off May 13 in Portland, Maine, are available at civictour.com.
Dashboard, still touring behind last year's A Mark, a Mission, a Brand, a Scar, will be joined by Thrice, a genre-bending Southern California band who emerged from the same underground hardcore community as Carrabba and his mates. Other support acts will be announced.
Honda Civic Tour dates, according to a spokesperson:
