Jane's Addiction, Marilyn Manson To Ring In New Year With Joint Tour
As if New Year's Eve in New York weren't freaky enough, Jane's Addiction and
Marilyn Manson are teaming up for a short co-headlining tour that will have them
ringing in the New Year at Madison Square Garden along with the Used.
The five-date trek will kick off on December 27 with a show at the Palace of
Auburn Hills in Michigan, swing through the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Virginia, the next night and land in New York on the 31st, according to a Capitol
Records spokesperson.
The tour will pick up on January 2 with a show at the Paul E. Tsongas Arena
in Lowell, Massachusetts, and is currently scheduled to wrap up the next night
at the Tweeter Center in Camden, New Jersey. Jane's will complete a European
tour on Wednesday, while Manson is about to head overseas for shows that will
last until December 19.
Jane's performed another of their surprise "flashmob" gigs in central London
on Monday (see [article id="1479964"]"Jane's Addiction Plan To Flashmob Unsuspecting Public"[/article]). Alerting fans to the impromptu performance in Covent Garden via a
cell phone text message, the band played a five-song set to several hundred
people holding pink balloons outside the London Transport Museum.
Prior to the Manson dates, Jane's will also pop up at a few radio festivals,
including KPNT St. Louis' Ho Ho Show on December 5 with Deftones, Smile
Empty Soul, Thursday and Thrice; as well as radio shows in Chicago (December 6),
Kansas City, Missouri (December 8), Las Vegas (December 11) and Live 105's Not So Silent Night on December 12 at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, where they will share the bill with Rancid, Black Eyed Peas and Black Rebel
Motorcycle Club.
The band will also play radio shows in Atlanta (December 16), KDGE's How the
Edge Been Caught Stealing Christmas on December 19 in Dallas with the Crystal Method and Kill Hannah and KTBZ Houston's Buzzfestivous on December 21.
