Madonna's theme for the next James Bond flick has been unofficially declassified.
Though the intention was to keep it tightly under wraps, Madonna's title song for "Die Another Day" was leaked to New York station Z100 on Friday, 10 days in advance of its scheduled radio debut. Over the weekend, some 55 stations added the song to rotation, this time with Warner Bros.' blessing.
Madonna composed and performed "Die Another Day" for the 20th installment of the spy series, in which she has a cameo as a fencing instructor. Her video for the song — including a scene making a reference to that cameo — was set to premiere on the same day as the original radio debut date (see "Madonna Escapes Electric Chair, Engages In Deadly Duel").
Even though the dance cut's radio release was pushed up, the CD single and video release dates won't be. The Traktor-directed video will still premiere on MTV's "Making the Video" on October 10 at 10 p.m., while the single — an enhanced CD including a portion of that episode of "Making the Video" — will still hit stores on November 12. The CD single will also include various remixes of "Die Another Day" by Dirty Vegas, Thunderpuss, Felix Da Housecat and Deepsky.
The soundtrack for "Die Another Day" hits stores November 12, while the film opens in theaters November 22.
