Eminem, Pink, Shakira Nab Most Noms For MTV Europe Music Awards
Providing further proof that the world is growing increasingly smaller, the nominees for the MTV Europe Music Awards 2002 boast some familiar names at the front of the pack. Eminem, Pink, Shakira, Enrique Iglesias, Coldplay and Kylie Minogue each go into the November 14 ceremony with four nods apiece.
The show will be made even more user-friendly for Stateside audiences by P. Diddy, who will host the ceremony, set for the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona, Spain.
When nominations were announced on Monday, U2, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Nelly found themselves perched right behind the early front-runners with three nominations each. Linkin Park, No Doubt, Nickelback, Jennifer Lopez, Lenny Kravitz, Korn and Röyksopp all garnered two nominations. Avril Lavigne, Britney Spears, the Hives, System of a Down, the White Stripes, Moby and hostmaster Diddy are also among the night's notable nominees.
Nominees Pink, Enrique Iglesias and Coldplay as well as Wyclef Jean were announced as performers for the event, joining the night's only previously announced performer Robbie Williams (see [article id="1457653"]"Robbie Williams To Perform At MTV Europe Music Awards"[/article]).
Pierce Brosnan, Halle Berry, Nick Carter, Holly Valance, Sugababes, Tiziano Ferro and Esther Canadas have been confirmed to appear as presenters.
