Willie Nelson Recuperating

Singer canceled a string of dates due to illness.

Willie Nelson is resting at home after canceling a string of concerts due to illness, his publicist reports.

The Fresno Bee earlier reported that the 68-year-old singer became ill onstage August 28 during a concert at the Konocti Harbor Resort in Kelseyville, California. Nelson canceled or postponed a handful of dates scheduled from August 29-September 3.

His publicist said Nelson has a bronchial infection and plans to resume touring September 29, when he plays Farm Aid at the Verizon Wireless Music Center in Noblesville, Indiana. The publicist also said the Fresno Bee's report of Nelson collapsing during his last performance was "exaggerated."

Nelson's Web site, meanwhile, says that he had a "touch of pneumonia" and went home to rest up for Farm Aid.
