Solo star and former Grateful Dead keyboardist Bruce Hornsby will be among the many acts to perform this year at the Gathering of the Vibes, according to Terrapin Presents, the organizers of the summer music festival.

Legendary African drum virtuoso Babatunde Olatunji, masterful jazz guitarist John Scofield and groove-jazz trio Soulive are also among the notable acts that have been confirmed so far. Bass freak Les Claypool will return this year, this time with his Flying Frog Brigade band, as will groove funkers Deep Banana Blackout, Merl Saunders and His Funky Friends and next generation Vermont jammers Strangefolk.

The sixth installment of the Vibes, an annual tribute to the memory of jam icon Jerry Garcia, will take place on a 500-acre farm in Red Hook, New York, from June 29 to July 1. The first round of advance tickets goes on sale April 9.
