Faith Hill's first three Grammy Awards meant a lot to the singer — and to her husband, Tim McGraw. Backstage at the awards ceremony on Wednesday night (February 21), Hill said her breakthrough album, Breathe (RealAudio excerpt of title cut), which was named Best Country Album, has been special for her. "Over and over again ... this album has changed the course of my career," she said. McGraw had tears in his eyes after Hill won the award for Best Female Country Vocal Performance, for "Breathe," and the two shared the Best Country Collaboration With Vocals Award, for their duet "Let's Make Love" (RealAudio excerpt). "I've been crying for the last 15 or 20 minutes," McGraw said. "She carries me, she carries our family, she carries our children and she does it with such grace and class." ...

A judge in Orchard Park, New York, has set a May 7 court date for Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney, who face charges stemming from a scuffle with police on June 3, the Associated Press reports. A lawyer for the two, meanwhile, is seeking to have the assault charges dismissed. The singers were arrested after a George Strait festival date near Buffalo, New York, after Chesney reportedly was forcibly removed by sheriff's deputies from a police horse and McGraw came to Chesney's aid. McGraw is charged with assault, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration and harassment — misdemeanors punishable by up to a year in prison. Chesney was charged with harassment after allegedly refusing deputies' orders to get off the horse. ...

Brad Paisley wore a special good luck jacket for his induction into the Grand Ole Opry on Saturday (February 17). The singer was sporting a canary yellow Nudie suit jacket on loan from his friend Buck Owens. Andy Griggs was arrested for car theft on Friday (February 16) in Tallahassee, Florida, the Associated Press reports. Police said Griggs and bandmate Kevin Weaver, on tour in Florida, took a joy ride in an ambulance they found parked outside a motel. When they returned to the motel, they were arrested and charged with grand theft auto, a third-degree felony that carries a penalty of up to five years in jail. Griggs and Weaver were released after posting $1,000 bond. …

An exhibit of original Patsy Cline letters called "Love Always, Patsy: Letters From the Jewelry Box" will go on display March 5 at the Smithsonian-affiliated Rock 'n' Soul Museum in Memphis, Tennessee. The exhibit is built around a series of letters Cline wrote to a young fan between 1955 and 1959, just as the singer's career was getting underway. …
