Warzone's Raybeez Dies Of Pneumonia

September 15 [14:00 EDT] -- Ray "Raybeez" Barbieri, frontman of the influential New York hardcore outfit Warzone, died last week after a battle with pneumonia.

Barbieri had been hospitalized for two weeks before passing away on Thursday. Associates of the singer say he was 35.

After forming in 1982, Warzone helped to build the New York hardcore community that included the CroMags, Agnostic Front (which Barbieri fronted before Warzone), Murphy's Law, and Youth of Today and were a staple at CBGB's Sunday hardcore matinees.

Warzone was set to release its latest album, "Fight For Justice," on October 21 on Victory Records.
