3 Doors Down Scores Hat Trick With "Kryptonite"

3 Doors Down have scored a number one hat trick with its "Kryptonite" single, as the song is currently topping the "R&R" charts on three different radio station formats: rock, active rock, and alternative.

The song has helped fuel sales of the Mississippi band's "The Better Life" album, which has surged to number 17 on the "Billboard" album charts, and has already tallied more than 525,000 copies sold, according to SoundScan.

3 Doors Down frontman Brad Arnold recently talked with MTV News about where and when he first heard that "Kryptonite," one of the oldest songs in the band's repertoire, had hit number one.

Of course, every crowd sings ['Kryptonite']. We let the crowd sing the breakdown every night, and they're singing and yelling

[article id="1451180"]"But it's also cool to see people singing songs that they haven't just heard on the radio, that they've actually had to listen to the album [to know]. To hear them sing those songs, it's just awesome." [RealVideo][/article]

This weekend, 3 Doors Down will participate in the two-day CPR Fest in Biloxi, Mississippi, along with Live, Filter, the Henry Rollins Band, Danzig, Tracy Bonham, and the Toadies.
