Static-X Lines Up Headlining Tour
Static-X has now lined up dates for its first extensive headlining tour, and similarly forward-thinking hard rockers Pitchshifter will be along for the ride.
The tour gets rolling on April 14 in San Francisco, and so far Static-X has lined up dates through early May.
Before getting its own roadshow, the band needs to wrap up its opening stint on Powerman 5000's "Rockets And Robots" tour, which winds down on March 24 in Phoenix.
The fresh itinerary comes as the band has delivered a brand spankin' new video to the halls of MTV as the group's David Meyers-directed clip for "I'm With Stupid" should start hitting the air soon. The clip follows the band's first for "Push It," and Static-X's newfound gold sales status made for a more high-rent shoot this time around.
[article id="1450899"]"This video, it was like, we had a trailer,"[/article] frontman Wayne Static affectionately recalled.
[article id="1450899"]"We had craft services
and catering,"[/article] drummer Ken Jay added. [article id="1450899"]"It was pretty rad."[/article]
[article id="1450899"]"There were, like, 20 people on the crew,"[/article] Static explained. [article id="1450899"]"One guy, his only job was to walk around with a spray bottle and wet down the gargoyles... it was insane." [RealVideo][/article]
All hands worked to transform a Los Angeles club into an "evil disco" for the shoot, a trick the band hopes to replicate on its upcoming headlining tour. If you want to see if they pull it off, here's where you can catch them:
