Britney Spears Shoots For Fun With Video Debut

Britney Spears, the 16-year-old pop pixie behind the song "Baby, One More Time," turned to some familiar surroundings when shooting the video for the song.

Spears hooked up with director Nigel Dick for her first video, and shot the clip in two days at California's Venice High School which also served as Rydell High in the movie "Grease.

[article id="1450700"]"Actually, the first idea we had for the video was like so off the wall. I was like, 'No, I don't want that,'"[/article] Spears recently explained to our friends in the MTV Radio Network. [article id="1450700"]"I was like, 'I want something all kids my age, you know, a lot of kids can relate to. You know, being in school, they're bored, they want to get out of school. Then we go out, and then there's a lot of dancing. It's just a fun video." [28.8 RealVideo][/article]

Part of the fun involved her cousin Chad Spears, a clothing model for Abercrombie & Fitch. Ironically, her cousin

plays the part of her love interest in the video, who can be spotted sitting on some gymnasium bleachers. Although they aren't really romantically linked, for obvious reasons, Chad got still got the part for having the right look, and the right family connections.

As for the song itself, it's the first single off of Spears' self-titled album, which hits store shelves on January 12. Spears is also out on the road with 'N Sync, and the two acts are next set to hit the stage December 27 in Minneapolis at the Orpheum Theater. She'll be touring with the act until mid-January.
