Early Rollins Solo Albums To Be Reissued

Henry Rollins' fans have major cause to rejoice in the coming months. The musician-poet is preparing to release an album with the all-new version of the Rollins Band, and remastered versions of his first post-Black Flag albums, along with a live album, are about to hit stores.

November 23 will see the re-release of Henry Rollins' "Hot Animal Machine" album as well as the first two Rollins Band albums, "Life Time" and "Hard Volume." All of the albums were remastered by Rollins, who also provides the liner notes, and each re-release includes a number of bonus tracks.

Hot Animal Machine," which sports cover art by Devo's Mark Mothersbaugh, also contains the "Drive By Shooting" EP, released by Rollins under the name "Henrietta Collins And The Wife Beating Child Haters.

Life Time," the first album by the original Rollins Band -- Rollins, guitarist Chris Haskett, bassist Andrew Weiss, drummer Sim Cain, and soundman Theo Van Rock -- was produced by Rollins' boyhood

friend and Fugazi leader Ian MacKaye.

Hard Volume," produced by the band's own Van Rock, features a cover of Suicide's "Ghost Rider," which Rollins had previously recorded on "Hot Animal Machine.

Hitting stores for the first time will be the Rollins Band's "Live In Australia 1990," which was recorded at a show for Australia's Triple J FM radio station. Finally rescued from storage, the album will be issued on November 23.

Looking ahead, the Rollins band will be releasing its next album, "Get Some Go Again" in January of next year. The new version of the band sees Rollins backed by members of the band Mother Superior -- guitarist Jim Wilson, bassist Marcus Blake, and drummer Jason Mackenroth. Rollins originally hooked up with them when he helped to produce Mother Superior's 1998 album, "Deep" (see [article id="1433790"]"Henry Rollins Recasts Rollins Band For New Album, Preview Tour"[/article]).
