A Perfect Circle Hits Summersault, Delivers Album

After captivating audiences on tour with Nine Inch Nails, A Perfect Circle is now firming up more tour plans, and they include time with the Foo Fighters, Smashing Pumpkins, and Our Lady Peace on Canada's Summersault tour.

The tour, the brainchild of Our Lady Peace, will also boast sets from The Catherine Wheel, Treble Charger, and Eve 6 when it gets rolling on August 4 in Vancouver.

News of A Perfect Circle's spot on the trek comes just as the band delivers its debut album, "Mer De Noms," to stores this week. For those unfamiliar with the comings and goings of modern progressive rock, the project is the brainchild of guitarist/composer Billy Howerdel and Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan.

After the band's stint with Nine Inch Nails wraps on June 18, A Perfect Circle will head abroad to play Europe, Australia, and Japan before returning to North America for Summersault's swing through Canada.

After that run north of the border in August,

the band plans to take a three-week vacation before hitting the road again, though that break may prove to be even longer. Keenan notes that he could be re-joining his counterparts in Tool at that time to begin recording that band's eagerly awaited follow-up to 1996's "Aenima.

[article id="1449280"]"That's the thing that's up in the air right now,"[/article] Keenan told MTV News. [article id="1449280"]"If Tool is ready to record, then we might have more than three weeks off. If Tool is not ready to record, hopefully my bandmembers will hear this and it will light a fire and we'll be ready. If not, I've got to go back on the road, guys, so let's do it."
