Marion "Suge" Knight, the man who founded Death Row Records and scored multi-platinum success with Dr. Dre, Snoop Doggy Dogg and the late Tupac Shakur, is currently serving year two of his nine-year sentence for assaulting a man at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas in 1996.

In an interview conducted at a prison in San Luis Obispo, California, which appears in this week's edition of "Newsweek" magazine, Suge vows he had nothing to do with either the killing of Shakur or the Notorious B.I.G., and that despite losing Snoop to Master P's No Limit imprint, that "Death Row is going to continue on.

When asked about Snoop's departure, Knight, who claims to spend most of his time at the California Men's Colony jail reading and playing tennis, says that the rapper would be "without a career if I hadn't helped him fight his murder charge," claiming that Death Row spent $4 million in legal fees defending Snoop when the rapper was accused of killing Philip Woldemariam in 1993.

also blasts Interscope for severing its relationship with Death Row, even though he had remained loyal to Interscope when he turned down an offer from Time-Warner to handle his label exclusively. But the former CEO says that all-in-all, prison has "been good for [him]," and that it's given him "time to see things very clearly.

I'm at peace with myself and as happy as I can be in this situation," Knight says. "I think the future is going to be very bright for me and Death Row.
