Hole Shoots New Video As Drummer Sits It Out

Courtney Love and Hole are now shooting the first video from their highly anticipated upcoming album, "Celebrity Skin," but drummer Patty Schemel isn't there.

Hole is filming the clip for the title track to the album, which is due on September 8, but Schemel is said to be "on holiday for personal reasons.

A number of other drummers were auditioned to sit in for her, with the ultimate choice being Samantha Maloney of the band Shift. Maloney will appear in the clip, but her face will not. Whether or not Schemel will be back behind the drum kit when Hole plays the 1998 MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles on September 10 remains to be seen.

As for the "Celebrity Skin" album, the domestic version will contain 12 tracks while the Japanese version will carry 13 songs.
