Sammy Hagar Makes Acting Debut, Van Halen Cuts Short Show

Former Van Halen vocalist Sammy Hagar has just completed taping an episode of TV's "Nash Bridges" in San Francisco, which according to his website, is Hagar's acting debut. He played a bartender, which may be appropriate, considering Hagar owns a club called the Cabo Wabo Cantina in Cabo San Lucas, Baja California.

Hagar staged a live gig at his establishment late last month to road test some of his new material and to shoot the cover for his pending new album, "Red Voodoo." The record will be his second solo effort since leaving Van Halen. It's due out in January.

Meanwhile, his former bandmates in Van Halen were forced to cut short their show last Thursday at the Great Woods venue in Mansfield, Massachusettes. when singer Gary Cherone lost his voice in front of his hometown audience. Van Halen played four songs before stopping the show. After a 15 minute break, Alex and Eddie Van Halen returned to the stage and told the crowd that the performance would be rescheduled and

the tickets honored the following night. That set was completed without incident.
