Wyclef Preps Two Videos For New Single

After nearly two years in the planning, Wyclef Jean is set to deliver a new solo effort to stores and has already wrapped two versions of the album's first video.

The rapper will deliver the follow-up to his 1997 solo turn "Carnival" on July 11 when "The Ecleftic: Two Sides of a Book" arrives in stores, and he has already finished two versions of the video for "Thug Angels" with director Guy Guillet. 'Clef unleashed both on music network The Box last week and encouraged fans to vote on which cut of the clip should be released to other video outlets.

Box viewers opted for the second version of the video, which carried more performance footage than version one, and as a result "Cut 2" of "Thug Angels" should turn up on MTV and other video outlets this week.

When "The Ecleftic" arrives this summer, the album will also boast guest appearances from Mary J. Blige, Earth, Wind & Fire, and The Product G&B (see [article id="1429157"]"Wyclef

Blige and fellow Fugee Pras joined 'Clef on stage last week at an intimate club show that Wyclef played at New York's S.O.B.'s (see [article id="1426118"]"Mary J. Blige, Pras Join Wyclef For NYC Show"[/article]).
