Ani DiFranco, Maceo Parker Join Forces For Summer Tour
Folk songstress Ani DiFranco and funk saxophonist Maceo Parker will head out on the road together for The F-Word Tour, a joint outing scheduled to kick off next week in Vienna, Virginia.
DiFranco will be hitting the road in support of a pair of new LPs: "Up Up Up Up Up Up," her most recent studio album, and "Fellow Workers," DiFranco's second record with Southwestern storyteller Utah Phillips. DiFranco and Phillips also worked together on 1996's "Past Didn't Go Anywhere."
For Parker, the alto saxophonist who made his name playing alto sax for James Brown in his heyday, The F-Word Tour will mark the latest in a long string of collaborations with various rock, soul and funk artists. Parker has previously worked with the likes of Parliament, Keith Richards, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bryan Ferry, Living Colour, and Jane's Addiction. Parker released a new solo album, "Funk Overload," just last year.
