Cypress Hill Talks As "Skull & Bones" Hits Charts

Cypress Hill's fifth studio album, "Skull & Bones," will make a big debut at number five on next week's "Billboard" albums chart after selling nearly 140 thousand copies in its first week, according to SoundScan.

After ten years in the rap game, 12 million albums sold, and countless sold-out tour runs, Cypress Hill has shown that they've still got it. As Cypress member Sen Dog told the MTV Radio Network, it's good to be loved.

[article id="1442363"]"It feels good to have longevity, man,"[/article] Sen said in a recent interview. [article id="1442363"]"A lot of cats come in and they have, like, one or two good records, and for some reason they have a tough time with that. I'm not saying we haven't had that same thing happen, but throughout it, our fan base has always been there for us, and our concert turnouts have always been good. So it feels great to have the longevity thing kick in." [RealAudio][/article]

[article id="1442365"]"I think there's just a lot of clarity in this record," B-Real continued. "It's real bumpy, it's real musical. I mean, most of the Cypress Hill records were musical, but you could hear the sample influence in most of the older records. This [album], it seems, it's just different." [RealAudio][/article]

Cypress Hill will be joining Limp Bizkit on a tour in support of "Skull & Bones." The free-admission outing kicks off in Chicago on July 4 and will be sponsored by controversial online music distribution company Napster. As for Cypress Hill's live set, B-Real said to look for a mix of Cypress hip hop classics mixed with some of the newer rap-rock fusion material.
