Cypress Hill To Light Up Third "Smoke Out" Festival

After drawing some 40,000 fans to last year's event, Cypress Hill is gearing up for the third edition of its annual Smoke Out festival, slated for October 7 at the National Orange Show Events Center in San Bernardino, California.

The final line-up for the Smoke Out 2000 concert has yet to be completed, but among the artists tentatively set to get musically torched are System Of A Down, Method Man and Redman, 311, Xzibit, Gang Starr, Tha Alkaholiks, and DJ Rap, among others.

Additional acts and a formal announcement about Smoke Out 2000, an event being co-sponsored by "Insider" magazine, is expected to be made by concert organizers in the next few weeks.

As with past years, there will also be a "surprise 4:20 p.m. act," keeping in theme with the festival event's smoke 'em if ya got 'em theme. The 1999 Smoke Out's surprise acts were Everlast and Fear Factory, who joined such scheduled performers as the Deftones, Ozomatli, KRS-One, and the Long Beach

Dub All Stars.

Prior to Smoke Out, Cypress Hill plans to head out on the road with rock and download renegades Limp Bizkit on a free tour being sponsored by controversial online music distributor Napster (see [article id="1427756"]"Durst Readies Lyrics As Limp Eyes Cypress Tour"[/article]).

Cypress Hill's newest record, the "Skull & Bones" double LP, is currently at number 25 on the "Billboard" Pop Album charts, and has sold more than 400,000 copies in just five weeks in stores.
