Cornershop Trashes Hotel Room, Cancels Show

The Anglo-Indian band Cornershop canceled its show in Bristol, England on Sunday after singer Tjinder Singh trashed his hotel room at the Marriott. The local police showed up at the scene but no arrests were made.

Cornershop's U.S. management attributed the outburst to "One of those bad days," adding that the band hasn't had a break in its hectic touring schedule for quite some time.

While the Marriott reported about five hundred pounds (or roughly one thousand dollars) worth of damage, the Cornershop camp says that figure is greatly exaggerated.

According to NME, the venue, The Bristol Fleece and Firkin, posted a handwritten sign on the doors saying, "Tonight's gig is canceled due to Cornershop being unable to act like adults." But the band's management could not confirm this note.

Cornershop is carrying on with its headlining U.K. tour, playing London on Wednesday and Thursday and Dublin on Saturday.
