Carlos Santana To Duet With Christian Castro

Carlos Santana will record a track from his smash 1999 album Supernatural with Mexican pop singer Christian Castro, according to billboard.com. Castro's U.S. label, BMG U.S. Latin, would not comment on the report, except to say that Santana, who records for related label Arista, would not appear on Castro's next album, due in January.

The Web site reported that Santana and Castro would team up on a new version of "Primavera," taken from Supernatural, Santana's 13-million-selling, seven-Grammy-winning album that includes guest turns by Matchbox 20 singer Rob Thomas ("Smooth") and top Mexico rock band Maná ("Corazón Espinado"). Santana also won three Latin Grammys for the album, including one for the collaboration with Maná.

A rising star in Latin pop music, Castro is represented by the 1999 album Mi Vida sin Tu Amor and his current single, "Por Amarte Así," which remains at #3 this week on the Billboard

Hot Latin Tracks chart.
