James Brown, Maureen Tucker, Kevn Kinney, Jack Logan Put On Dancing Shoes For New Audio Book

Following their success with last year's multi-artist audio book, "Not Dogs... Too Simple," former Coolies frontman Clay Harper and his brother Mark have once again assembled an all-star cast for their newest outre project, "The Slippery Ballerina."

This time around, the Brothers Harper have enlisted the vocal aid of Godfather of Soul James Brown, former Velvet Underground drummer Maureen Tucker, Drivin' N' Cryin's Kevn Kinney, and Col. Bruce Hampton for the record.

Stiff Records alumni Ian Dury and Wreckless Eric serve as narrators for "The Slippery Ballerina," which tells the story of a dancer named Monkey who becomes physically affected by the conflict between her love of ballet and the business pressures coming from her sundry managers and contacts. Clay Harper described the new project as "fun for the whole dysfunctional family."

Like "Not Dogs," cover and interior art for "The Slippery Ballerina" has been done by Jack Logan, who recorded his most recent solo release,

"Buzz Me In," at Clay Harper's recording facilities, Casino Studios.

"The Slippery Ballerina" is due out on September 28.
