July 11 [12:00 EDT] -- Meredith Brooks' single, "Bitch," [article id="1440758"][800k QuickTime][/article] reaches the number two slot on the pop charts on Monday, and her album, "Blurring the Edges," hits number 22.

When MTV News recently chatted with Brooks in New York, she told us that both the song and the album emerged at a turning point in her career.

Brooks will hit the road for the first time since her single, "Bitch," became a hit. She'll begin touring on August 3rd in her hometown of Portland, Oregon.

Tickets are now on sale for many dates on the month-long tour, which will include several stops on Sarah McLachlan's Lilith Fair, starting with the August 17th show in Montreal.
