Moby, Thurston Moore, Orbit Remix Blur

Fans of Blur may want to check the import section of their local record store for a Japanese import double-CD that features the band remixed by Moby, Thurston Moore, and Madonna producer William Orbit.

According to the official website of the band's record label, Virgin Records, a two-CD set called "Bustin' + Drownin'" has made it to the States from Japan, and features one disc of Blur remixes and one of live recordings the band did for Britain's Radio 1.

The remix disc features Orbit's version of "Movin' On," Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore reworking "Essex Dogs," and Moby's take on "Beetlebum" among other cuts. The second disc is comprised of tracks culled from the band's performance for John Peel's Radio 1 show last year, and includes "Song 2," "Chinese Bombs," and "Popscene.

The collaboration between Orbit and Blur went so well that Damon Albarn has already contacted William Orbit about producing tracks for the group's new album, according to the "New Music Express.

Never one to let business interfere with pleasure, Blur will wait until the completion of the World Cup tournament before heading into the studio. The band has been honing new material while rehearsing for an appearance at this year's Glastonbury Festival, scheduled for June 26 through 28 in Glastonbury, England.
