Blondie Raps About Bringing Hip-Hoppers On Tour

Blondie will drop its first new studio album in 17 years this week with the release of "No Exit," which marks the reunion of original members Debbie Harry, guitarist Chris Stein, keyboardist Jimmy Destri and drummer Clem Burke.

The first single from the new album, "Maria," has already raced up the U.K. singles charts, but the video remix medley of the song also features appearances from Inspectah Deck and U-God of the Wu-Tang Clan, as well as Coolio and members of Mobb Deep.

When MTV News caught up with Blondie last week, Chris, Debbie and Jimmy talked about whether they'd ever consider bringing the rappers out on the road.

[article id="1440254"]"I would love to bring them out with us,"[/article] Destri said.

[article id="1440254"]"If we could figure it out,"[/article] Stein offered, [article id="1440254"]"I think it would be terrific. Do you?"[/article]

[article id="1440254"]"Yeah,"[/article] Harry agreed,

[article id="1440254"]"but they would have to do more than just the one song with us. They would have to do [more material], we'd have to have some kind of major show."[/article]

[article id="1440254"]"Wrestling in it,"[/article] Destri added.

[article id="1440254"]"Wrestling and everything," [28.8 RealVideo][/article] Harry said.

Tonight Blondie will celebrate the release of "No Exit" by playing its first New York show in almost two decades at Manhattan's spacious Town Hall -- a far cry from the cramped, no frills stage of one-time punk mecca CBGB's, where the band started back in the mid-'70s.

Meanwhile, the "Maria" medley remix can be heard on the soundtrack to the film, "200 Cigarettes," which opens this Friday in theaters across the country.
