Mary J. Blige, L.L. Cool J Tapped For NBA All-Star Game

As the worlds of sports and music prepare to collide this weekend for Super Bowl XXXIV in Atlanta, the NBA has announced that Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Mary J. Blige, and L.L. Cool J will perform at the league's All-Star Game next month.

The 2000 NBA All-Star Game will be played on February 13 at the Arena in Oakland, California, and will pit the best basketball players from the Eastern Conference against those from the Western Conference.

Current plans call for Shepherd, LL. Cool J, and Blige to hit the hardwood during halftime. The trio will all participate in a seven-minute music number that will begin with a lengthy guitar solo from blues prodigy Shepherd, then segue into a hip-hop song performed by both Blige and L.L.

Shepherd will play the NBA All-Star Game prior to launching an extended U.S. tour on February 17 in New Orleans. As for Blige, she'll head to L.A. the week after her NBA appearance to attend this year's Grammy Awards being held at the Staples

Center.

Blige plans to kick off her own tour in March, although an exact itinerary is still pending.
