Mary J., Destiny's Child Win Big At Lady Of Soul Awards

Mary J. Blige, Destiny's Child, and singer-songwriter Angie Stone each took home two trophies at this year's Lady Of Soul Awards, held September 2 in Santa Monica, California.

Blige won R&B/Soul Song Of The Year for "All That I Can Say" and R&B/Soul Album Of The Year for "Mary." Destiny's Child emerged the best band, winning both R&B/Soul Single for "Say My Name" and R&B/Soul Album Of The Year for "The Writing's On the Wall" in the group performance category. The eclectic Angie Stone was honored with the Best R&B/Soul Single for "No More Rain (In This Cloud)," as well as the Best R&B/Soul or Rap New Artist award. Best R&B/Soul or Rap Music Video honors went to Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott for "Hot Boyz.

Actress Halle Berry and singer Toni Braxton received special awards: The Lena Horne Award for outstanding career achievement went to Berry, and Braxton took home the Aretha Franklin Award for entertainer of the year.

The Lady Of Soul Awards were broadcast
