NASHVILLE — Respected tunesmith Clive Westlake died of a heart attack June 21 in Nashville at the age of 67.

The Welsh-born talent was schooled at London's prestigious Royal Academy of Music. His songs were recorded by a wide range of hitmakers.

Tom Jones delivered a charismatic version of Westlake's "Minute of Your Time," and the Hollies cut his "Here I Go Again." Westlake co-wrote the British top 10 hit "All I See Is You" for Dusty Springfield. The pop diva also recorded his "I Close My Eyes and Count to Ten" and "Losing You" (RealAudio excerpt).

Elvis Presley cut two Westlake songs as well, including "It's a Matter of Time" and "Twenty Days & Twenty Nights" (RealAudio excerpt), and pop singer Petula Clark performed "No One Better Than You" and "When I Give My Heart to You."
