Ashley Rickards Of 'Awkward.' Nominated For Critics' Choice Award!

You know Julia Louis-Dreyfus, star of the legendary "Seinfeld"? Yeah, well, MTV's own Ashley Rickards is officially in the comedy great's company, and there's a good chance the "Awkward" lead might best the woman behind Elaine Benes when the Critics' Choice Awards makes its picks for TV's brightest talent come June 18. In the words of Benes, herself: "GET OUT!"

Rickards is nominated for the show's "Best Actress in a Comedy Series" distinction alongside the likes of Louis-Dreyfus, Amy Poehler and Zooey Deschanel, and now that last year's winner Tina Fey is noticeably absent from the category, it looks as if the trophy is anyone's for the taking. "Thank you so much! I'm beyond honored and grateful," Rickards tweeted after getting word that she might soon be an award-winner. And suddenly, the days spent on set trapped inside an itchy neck brace and full arm cast seem worth the massive discomfort.
