Is This A New Zayn Malik Lyric Or Just A Subtweet?

Zayn has me scratching my head and holding my heart.

Ummm... Zayn Malik, what exactly does this mean?

The ex-One Direction singer tweeted what seemed like lyrics late Wednesday night -- “I don’t want you to wait for me/ I’m not coming home." Could these be the lines he's singing on his new project?

Zayn left One Direction in March and announced his solo career by signing a record deal in July. He's been in the studio,

I'm not coming home">working with Malay, a producer responsible for much of Frank Ocean's Channel Orange.

We've already heard Zayn solo cover of Rae Sremmurd's "No Type" and his own demo of "I Don't Mind" earlier this year, but we haven't heard much else out of the singer. So, is this tweet promising?

Here's how other people reacted:

With some wit

And humor

And confusion

And 1D loyality

But this person reacted in the same way as I did...

Perhaps they're not lyrics at all, and this is just a subtweet.

If you remember, Zayn left One Direction's On The Road Again Tour after he was accused of cheating on his fiancee, Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards. He flew back to the U.K. to be with her after paparazzi snapped him holding hands with another woman in Thailand. Judging by the photos they posted on Instagram, Zayn and Perrie seemed A-OK on vacation on the Mediterranean Sea after that, but the two broke up in August, shortly after Zayn signed his record deal.

Could "coming home" in last night's tweet reference the time he left the 1D tour to attempt to save his relationship with Perrie? Could it mean that he's not going to do that again for anyone else that he's with? Is this his way of telling people -- or a specific someone -- that he doesn't give a f--k and that you shouldn't get too invested in him?

We're only left guessing.
