Justin Bieber's Instagram game has been over-the-top strong as of late, so you might not have caught this gem in the slew of selfies he's been posting the last few days.

Justin posted a "throwback" photo of ex Selena Gomez on Tuesday night. It's something he's been known to do before, so it wasn't too much of a shock. But, as fans remember, after he posted a picture of his ex back in March of 2014, they briefly got back together. Maybe he's trying to see if it works again?

"Just a throwback calm down," Justin wrote in an edited caption after fans understandably freaked a bit.

But Bieber wasn't the only one to comment. His Canadian cohort Drake even had something to say:

"Damn I thought this was a Jelena current day flick," Drake wrote, adding a sad-face emoji and a Canadian flag. Was it a troll? Was he being sincere? WHO KNOWS.

Much to Drake's displeasure, the photo was taken in August of 2014, the day that JB was arrested for dangerous driving and assault in his hometown in Canada.

Bieber has been very focused on Gomez in his press run for Purpose. In numerous interviews. "I'm never going to stop loving her," he told Access Hollywood in October.

So, are they getting back together soon? Selena has been seen around with new dude Sam Krost.

“I think we both gotta do some soul searching ourselves and figure out ourselves before we can just try to figure out each other," Bieber had said in the Access Hollywood interview.

And apparently that soul searching means scouring through old photos for the perfect Instagram post.
