After four days, Lamar Odom is reportedly awake and responding.
According to E! News, Odom awoke from his coma on Friday (Oct. 16), saw estranged wife Khloe Kardashian, said, "Hey, baby," gave her a thumbs up and then went back to sleep, a source told them.
The former NBA L.A. Lakers player was rushed to the hospital after he was found unconscious at a Nevada brothel. It is believed that the 35-year-old suffered several strokes and drugs were found in his system. He was in critical condition and doctors reportedly told family that he would suffer brain damage if he woke up.
Sources to E! News say that he is with his children, their mother, and his father, along with Khloe, Kris Jenner and some of Khloe's sisters. Fellow basketball players, including Kobe Bryant, also visited the hospital.
Khloe and Odom were married for four years before she filed for divorce in 2013. A judge has yet to finalize that divorce.
On Thursday, the Kardashians released a joint statement, saying they were suspending activity on their apps so they could focus on praying for Lamar. They've been posting heartbreaking tributes to the athlete on Instagram and Twitter:
"Please pray for Lamar,” Kris wrote. "#OurFighter."
"Praying nonstop for my Brother !!" Rob Kardashian wrote.
“Let’s dance again together soon. Prayers up for Lamar please," Kylie wrote.
“Believing in the power of prayer for this beautiful soul," Kourtney said.
Fellow athletes have also been sharing love for Odom, urging people to pray for Lamar.
