Naughty Boy Thought Zayn Malik’s Twitter Was Hacked After 'Fat Joke' Tweet

The producer is a 'bit sad' about how things went down.

It appears we weren't the only ones surprised that Zayn Malik and Naughty Boy had a falling out, because the music producer had no idea the former One Direction star had an issue with him.

Last week, Zayn took to Twitter, slamming Naughty Boy and saying that he was a "fat joke" who should stop pretending that the two are friends. The pair no longer follow each other on social media.

Naughty Boy is finally speaking out about the tweet, saying that it sounded like something "little girls who send me hate would say," and that he was upset with what was said -- considering all the backlash he has had to endure from Directioners since Zayn has left the group.

“I can deal with what he said, but he knows the hate I’ve had to endure for him is the bit that upset me. That’s not how I know Zayn to speak, even face to face," he told The Sun. "I definitely thought at first that he had been hacked."

He continued, "The fat joke thing wasn’t necessary and he’s getting a lot of backlash for that because a lot of his fans don’t look like Selena Gomez."

Naughty Boy, who has not spoken to the singer and claims he is done with Twitter wars, thinks Zayn sent the tweets "out of anger" because he assumed that the producer was responsible for leaking Krept and Konan's video for "No Type," which features Zayn.

“I have never leaked anything of Zayn’s. The cover ["I Won't Mind"] we leaked together," he said. "Nothing has been leaked by me. Zayn asked Mic Righteous to write something but it was never going to be used -- it was always going to be Krept and Konan -- but Mic Righteous decided to put that out himself."

Naughty Boy is a "bit sad" about how things are playing out, since just two months ago Zayn was calling him his BFF at the Asian Awards -- but despite the harsh words, he still has love for the singer and hopes that their music together doesn't "suffer."

“The one thing that definitely shouldn’t suffer in this is the music. That was the purest thing we could have done. Music has always been the one driving force of what we do. I feel that the songs are close to his heart because we wrote them together," he said before adding, "he needs to try out different things and he is definitely still my friend. If we weren’t then I would have attacked him back.”
