Working With Ed Sheeran Was A ‘Challenge’ For Martin Garrix

But they ended up 'super happy' with their collaboration.

While I've been listening to Ed Sheeran and Martin Garrix's track "Rewind, Repeat It"... well, on repeat... for the past several weeks, it turns out that I wasn't the only one that was a little skeptical when word got out that these two were teaming up for a track.

"First time [that] I told people I was working with Ed Sheeran, they were like, 'Huh? How is that going to sound?' That's a weird collab, like Ed Sheeran doesn't do that stuff -- and I don't know how his voice will sound on the track," Martin recently told MTV News. "But that was the challenge for Ed and me to combine both our roles and find a middle way. It was very challenging, but in the end we were both super happy with the result."

And he should be -- the track, which Martin premiered at the Ultra Music Festival and will be featured on his upcoming album -- perfectly combines his dance music background with Ed's sweet-sounding lyrics.

But making the track wasn't all a challenge; the two managed to have some fun as well, with the EDM producer calling the "Thinking Out Loud" singer "super fun and super humble."

"I didn't meet him the first time in the studio -- we partied in Amsterdam," Martin said.
