Ed Sheeran Has Some Choice Words For Grammy Competitor Pharrell Williams: Watch

The dudes are both nominated for Album of the Year.

Did Ed Sheeran play rec soccer as a kid? 'Cause he's already lining up to give a very sportsmanlike "Good game, good game, good game" handshake to his fellow Grammy nominees -- Pharrell Williams, in particular.

The redheaded Brit's x and the "Happy" singer's G I R L are both nominated for Album Of The Year at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards, along with Beyoncé's BEYONCÉ, Sam Smith's In The Lonely Hour and Beck's Morning Phase. We caught up with Ed at 102.7 KIIS FM's annual Jingle Ball to see how he felt about nabbing the only nomination he says he "ever, ever wanted -- ever."

"Pharrell's winning, alright?" the 23-year-old artist said. "'Cause when you get [the] Album Of The Year nomination, all the producers involved in your album, if you win, get a nomination. And he worked on Beyoncé's album, my album and his own album, so he's got a three-in-five chance of winning. So, Pharrell -- fair play."

Sheeran's x is also nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album, and his song from "The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug," "I See Fire," is up for Best Song Written For Visual Media.

The 57th Annual Grammy Awards will be held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Catch the ceremony on Sunday, Feb. 8, 2015.
