Lorde Covers Jeremih's 'Don't Tell 'Em': Watch Now
Oh my god, BBC Radio 1's "Live Lounge" covers are the best. Lorde popped by the radio station on Thursday (November 13), and her take on Jeremih's "Don't Tell 'Em" did not disappoint.
The 18-year-old New Zealand native took DJ Mustard's 8-bit dungeon sound and slowed it down to a slow drip, as if she'd submerged the entire song in water. Wait, now I can't stop picturing Lorde as the final boss of the water dungeon in some long-forgotten NES video game bwaaaaaaaaaahhh...
Lorde also played her new "Hunger Games: Mockingjay -- Part 1" single, "Yellow Flicker Beat," and it's definitely one of those "You could hear a pin drop" kinds of performances -- the kind that transfixes you. It's hard to doubt her conviction as she sings, "I'm locking up everyone who ever laid a finger on me." You might not wanna cross Lorde right now. Or ever.
