Donald Glover Is Officially Joining The 'Star Wars' Galaxy

[SCREAMS VERY LOUDLY TRYING TO IMITATE WOOKIE NOISE BECAUSE !!!!!]

Donald Glover is going to be making a very, very long flight from Atlanta to a galaxy far, far away — creatively speaking, of course.

Lucasfilm announced that Glover will be joining the cast of the forthcoming Han Solo spin-off as Lando Calrissian, the original owner of the Millennium Falcon and a space-savvy smuggler who befriended Solo long before Luke Skywalker made his entrance.

The movie — which is set for a 2018 release, stars Alden Ehrenreich as Solo, and has yet to be named — will be directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the guys responsible for The Lego Movie and the rebooted 21 Jump Street. They’re very, very stoked about this development, even if the opportunity comes with an unexpected side effect.

“We’re so lucky to have an artist as talented as Donald join us,” Lord and Miller said in an official statement. “These are big shoes to fill, and an even bigger cape, and this one fits him perfectly, which will save us money on alterations. Also, we’d like to publicly apologize to Donald for ruining Comic-Con for him forever.”

Congrats to DG on what’s sure to be an amazing addition to the Star Wars legacy.
