The Jackson lineage will soon have a new heir to its pop empire.

After months of speculation, Janet Jackson has confirmed that she and her husband are expecting their first child together. The 50-year-old singer announced the news in a People exclusive, saying, “We thank God for our blessing.” A gorgeous accompanying photo shows the mama-to-be’s baby bump on full display.

This is the first time Jackson has publicly acknowledged her pregnancy. The news comes six months after she announced that she was postponing her Unbreakable World Tour to focus on “planning” a family. As pregnancy rumors swirled in May, the famously private singer dropped the video for her Unbreakable cut “Dammn Baby” (very curious timing, huh?).

This is the first child for Jackson and her husband, 41-year-old billionaire Wissam Al Mana, whom she married in 2012. Congrats to the happy couple!
