Kanye Wrote A Poem About McDonald’s For Frank Ocean’s 'Blond' Zine

Looks like Kanye Supersized his inner Bard for this ode to fast food

Frank Ocean dropped not one but TWO albums this week — Endless, his surprise visual album, and Blonde, previously known as Boys Don’t Cry — but that’s not all.

The no-longer-reclusive R&B singer made a literary foil for these two bodies of work in the form of a zine, and its list of contributors includes Kanye West.

Those lucky (and patient, ’cause those lines were no joke) enough to hit Ocean’s pop-up shops in Chicago, London, Los Angeles, and New York on August 20 were able to score copies of the print publication. In its pages, the reader can find an essay by Ocean that serves as his mission statement, where he compares the creative process behind Endless and Blonde to feeling as though he were “in the presence of a $16M McLaren F1 armed with a disposable camera.” (He’s since shared the essay on his Tumblr.)

There’s also a poem by West inspired by, uh, strife between snacks at McDonald’s.

McDonald's man

McDonald's man

The French fries had a plan

The French fries had a plan

The salad bar and the ketchup made a band

Cus the French Fries had a plan

The French fries had a plan

McDonald's man

McDonald's

I know them French fries have a plan

I know them French fries have a plan

The cheeseburger and the shakes formed a band

To overthrow the French fries plan

I always knew them French fries was evil man

Smelling all good and shit

I don't trust no food that smells that good man

I don't trust it

I just can't

McDonald's man

McDonald's man

McDonald's, man

Them French fries look good tho

I knew the Diet Coke was jealous of the fries

I knew the McNuggets was jealous of the fries

Even the McRib was jealous of the fries

I could see it through his artificial meat eyes

And he only be there some of the time

Everybody was jealous of them French fries

Except for that one special guy

The smooth apple pie

It’s cool, Kanye. We don’t trust those delicious, delicious fries, either.
