Feel that stitch in your side? That’s the result from years of laughing at Will Friedle’s various antics as Eric Matthews on Boy Meets World, Girl Meets World, and as other characters in the countless other projects he’s done.

Today (August 11) marks Friedle’s 40th birthday, and his costar Danny McNulty, a.k.a. school bully turned janitor Harley Keiner, helped Friedle celebrate with the best gift.

Friedle’s iconic character adopted the alter ego “Plays With Squirrels” on the final season of Boy Meets World, dropping a major truth bomb to all of his friends: “Lose one friend, lose all friends, lose yourself.” Plays With Squirrels made a triumphant return on Girl Meets World, and Friedle continues giving advice as his persona on Twitter, hashtagging the tweets #WednesdaywisdomwithMrSquirrels.

Considering how these two were definitely not pals in the past, it’s nice to see Eric and Harley put their differences aside and be BFFs today.
