The Fourth 'Star Trek' Film Is Bringing Back A Fan Favorite

We might finally get that father and son reunion

Star Trek Beyond doesn't come out until Friday (July 22), but Paramount Pictures is already teasing us about the fourth film in the Star Trek reboot series. (Full Disclosure: MTV and Paramount Pictures are both owned by Viacom.)

An untitled sequel to Star Trek Beyond will bring back George Kirk, played by Chris Hemsworth, Paramount announced Monday (July 18). Fans (briefly) fell in love with Hemsworth's character in the 2009 Star Trek film, where he died in the opening scene, never getting to meet his little boy, future Captain James T. Kirk (Chris Pine). Hemsworth returned as George in Star Trek Into Darkness, lending his voice as Kirk wakes up from his "death-nap."

Paramount states that James will "cross paths with a man he never had a chance to meet, but whose legacy has haunted him since the day he was born: his father." We can't wait for the reunion because this was just way too damn sad.
