Calvin Harris Isn’t Happy About How Taylor Swift Revealed Their Secret Collaboration

The producer went on a Twitter rant about his ex's ‘hurtful’ songwriting reveal

Minutes after Taylor Swift’s rep confirmed she wrote the lyrics to Calvin Harris’s hit “This Is What You Came For,” the Scottish producer expressed his displeasure with the way the story’s been framed.

Harris shot off a few tweets about the secret collaboration, confirming that Swift did indeed write the lyrics to his song and even contributed some backup vocals on the final recording with Rihanna.

But he also criticized Swift and her representatives for trying to make him look as though he were taking credit for his ex-girlfriend’s work. "Hurtful to me at this point that her and her team would go so far out of their way to try and make ME look bad at this stage though,” he wrote.

"I wrote the music, produced the song, arranged it and cut the vocals,” Harris tweeted. "And initially she wanted it kept secret, hence the pseudonym."

Then his tweets got a little more pointed: "I figure if you're happy in your new relationship you should focus on that instead of trying to tear your ex bf down for something to do ... I know you're off tour and you need someone new to try and bury like Katy ETC but I'm not that guy, sorry. I won't allow it."

If that’s enough to send him off on a Twitter rant, just wait until he hears the songs Taylor’s inevitably been working on over the past few weeks.
