A decade after Channing Tatum danced his way into our hearts in Step Up, he’s making sure the film’s legacy lives on in a huge way.

On Thursday, YouTube announced plans for a series adaptation of the dance-centric franchise, executive produced by Mr. and Mrs. Step Up: Channing and Jenna Dewan Tatum. The married couple -- who met on the set of the 2006 film -- will be joined by Adam Shankman, Jennifer Gibgot, and Meredith Milton, who produced the original Step Up and its four sequels.

According to The New York Times, Lionsgate has ordered 10 episodes of the series, each running about 45 minutes. Production on the show will begin later this year, and will debut in 2017 as the first original scripted series on YouTube Red. Plot details are being kept mostly under wraps, but Deadline describes it as a “heart-pounding, sexy, music-filled drama about dancers in a contemporary performing arts school.”

Between this exciting news and the dance competition show they announced back in March, the Tatums are clearly making major moves in the TV world. So far, we’re liking what we see.
