Let's be real — when Kim Kardashian's mostly naked GQ cover dropped yesterday, no one was surprised. We've all seen Kim naked before — we've even seen her naked on the cover of a magazine before. What was unexpected, though, was to see a totally topless woman inside the pages of GQ — for as hard as the magazine goes on ~suggestive poses~ and minimal clothing, it rarely ever goes fully NSFW.

Who wants to actually see female human nipples when you can just imagine them behind cupped hands, y'know?

Of course, if anyone is going to bare her nipples in GQ and have it feel more "arty" than "porny," as her evolution is described in the profile, it's Kim Kardashian. By hiring fashion photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott for the shoot, the vibe — to use one of Kim's favorite words — is decidedly more style-oriented than over-the-top sexy, even though the only fashion credit for this image is "Linens by Pratesi."

Kim knows exactly what she's doing and, well, we're just lucky to be along for the ride.
