Fergie Gets Fierce With A Nicki Minaj-Assisted Song

This long-rumored collab exists after all!

Way back in 2014, Fergie revealed she had a Nicki Minaj collaboration in her clutches, which she said she’d “possibly” release before the end of that year. Now, almost two years later, we’ve finally gotten our first taste of that Fergie/Nicki goodness.

During the singer’s performance at Rock in Rio in Lisbon on Friday night, she kicked things off with the minute-long teaser clip for “Hungry,” which premiered earlier that day. Then, she launched right into a track reportedly titled “You Already Know,” which boasts cocky, spit-fire verses, an old school vibe, and a sample from Lyn Collins’s 1972 single “Think (About It)” (which you probably know from Rob Base and DJ EZ Rock’s “It Takes Two”).

Nicki’s contribution appears at the very end of the song, when she demands, “Make some noise for my girl Fergie Ferg.” Sure, it’s a fleeting moment, but Fergie’s made it clear we’re be hearing a lot more from her soon, so there may be hope for a longer collab after all.

Fergie is gearing up to release her long-awaited sophomore album, the follow-up to her 2005 debut, The Dutchess.
